I live in A duplex and the people who live above me have a dog and everytime they leave the dog barks?

sometimes for hours and hours its to the point that the whole neighborhood has confronted them about it becuz they will leave there pourch door open so the dog can go onto the pourch while they are gone i have a 10 month old son and everytime they leave and the dog starts barking my son wakes up and im so sick of it i can scream i have confronted them on many occasions and they continue to do nothing about it they tell me what do u want me to do about it i cant control him when im not here thats there response, does anyone know WHAT I CAN DO TO GET THIS STOPPED sometimes the dog barks 6-7am and as late as 1am i need sleep and my son needs sleep and u cant sleep with a barking dog im not sure were i can go or what i can go anymore!!! and its actually barking right now!!!! HEEELLLLP!!!
