Why have only 10% of Nobel recipients in the past 5 years been women?

Despite the fact that the Nobel committee is notoriously liberal (having given awards to Hussein Obama, Al Bore, and Paul Krugman) and exists in two countries where feminism is rampant, the Nobel Committee still has difficulty finding accomplished women. Why are accomplished women so hard to find?
