Why Bonnisan or gripe water not recommended for infants? Anticipating reply from a paediatrician, please help!?

I am a mother of a 6-week-old. My child cries throughout the day mostly in the evening due to colic. I was told by a doctor not to treat the child with bonnisan or gripe water. Instead the doctor advised me to take the child out as the first step, and if still the child cries to treat it with crocin drops as the second step, and if still the child cries to treat it with Pedicloryl (triclofos sodium). Is it okay to treat the child with crocin on a daily basis? or is it okay to treat the child with triclofos sodium which is a sedative? Why shouldn't I use Bonnisan or gripe water for griping pain or colic instead of a pain killer or sedative?
