What to do with my hair its med. and brown?

ok i have brown hair my hair is VERY VERY thick so i cant really grow it out too long or the sides start getting all poofy im basically looking for a rockin emo/scene haircut my hair now is about 4 in on the sides away from my shoulders. and if i pull my bangs down now they reach in btween my eyebrows
