Deep question so give it some thought: Christians?

Ok, so Christians believe that the only way that you can get to heaven is by believing in Jesus. They also believe that at the moment of conception a child is created and therefore can't be killed. But, if the parents decide to get an abortion, the child never got the chance to "accept" Jesus. So I'm taking this to mean that you believe that god would send little, underdeveloped fetuses to hell? How can you consider that your merciful god would do such a thing to someone who didn't even get to form his own opinions?
