Where can i find ladybugs? (details please)?

In cl, a ladybug flew on my friends head and we kept it as a pet. we had it for 4 dayz untill my teacher took it away and set it free. I want a new one to keep but i just cant find any! I looked everywhere and i cant find any! i looked in bushes, gr,flowers,bushes,shrubs,trees, and in my house! and guess what i found, nothing! i think im looking for them too early but its almost summer so they should be coming out. i live in tampa,florida.
